About Us

We are a community based non-profit group, incorporated in Manitoba,  dedicated to advocacy for the Brenda Leipsic off-leash dog park in Winnipeg Manitoba. We are powered exclusively by volunteers, fundraising and community donations. We are the  stewards for this City of Winnipeg off-leash area, that operate according to an Adopt a Park agreement which helps us maintain the park.  Our park serves the greater River Heights,  Lindenridge, Tuxedo and Fort Garry neighborhoods predominately,  but due to our present status as a Regional park we have members and draw users from across the South West of Winnipeg.  Our group was formed in late 2014 in response to the slated closure of our Community off-leash dog park due to the city of Winnipeg‘s proposed Bus Rapid Transit Corridor extension project   With the strong voice of our organized group we were able to negotiate the continued use of our off-leash area and due to the steadfast advocacy of our ward’s city counsellor, John Orlikow,  with the support from the Mayor’s office, the City of Winnipeg committed to providing a relocation site for development of the Brenda Leipsic Dog Park adjacent to the original site as part of the BRT project development.
